The c.1889 mansion elegantly dominates its hill above the town of Mountain City. The Mountain Pavilion wedding room over looks a garden with mountain ridges in the distance. Its vaulted ceiling creates an unequaled space visually and acoustically. It has an airy feel, with a classic, intimate appeal including many windows overlooking the garden and mountains. The old-world charm of native walnut trim and mellow tile floors completes the vision.

Built just for events like yours, it has a dedicated catering kitchen, public restrooms (2) and “The Gallery” which functions as a foyer, reception and staging area. The garden is surrounded by a perennial garden and backed by tall trees.
For larger events the property includes a large, paved tent site with a mountain ridge view.
The inn’s five guest rooms — in the historic portion of the inn — are large and fully equipped with sought-after modern amenities (whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, king or queen beds, robes, snacks, TVs and in-room WIFI). Rental of all five guest rooms for the weekend is required for larger, late Saturday afternoon/evening weddings.

The location is a short 23 miles from Boone, NC, and less than 40 minutes from Abingdon, VA. Johnson City, TN is about 48 minutes away.
The rental facility is perfect for rehearsal dinners, showers, bridesmaid’s luncheons as well as wedding ceremonies and anniversary and renewal parties. The architecture stands alone or it can be decorated to meet your needs. Catering by outside vendors.

Basic Elopement: May be combined with any guest room (one night minimum required). Wedding with up to four guests. Lovely, thoughtful ceremony, plus cake and punch reception. Package includes coordination by innkeeper and use of the Wedding Garden and Mountain Pavilion, The Gallery, public restrooms in the Pavilion and Gallery. Ceremony conducted by a local minister or clerk/judge (OR bring your own Tennessee-licensed official). Innkeeper will make a dozen photos plus use your camera(s) for additional shots. Included: a double heart, handmade wedding cake and punch, CD music before and after the ceremony, and a take-home souvenir inn mug. Maximum four other persons attending. Time of ceremony subject to availability of the officiant. $200 (no tax) effective 11/6/07.
